Vung Tau Activities - Vung Tau Travel Guide

For those spending quite a few days in Ho Chi Minh City, Vung Tau is a great place to escape to and enjoy some peace and tranquillity, particularly on week days. The water off the beaches is good for recreational activities, while the headlands are great for hiking.

Vung Tau Activities:

Water sports in Vung Tau activities:

Watersports are very popular at Vung Tao, with swimming, wind surfing, parasailing and boating all possible. Snorkelling around some of the points between the beaches can be rewarding, but only on calm days and when the currents are not too strong. Hon Ba also offers good snorkelling.

Wade to Hon Ba in Vung Tau activities::

The islet is accessible at low tide and is great for exploring, with many marine creatures in the shallow rocky pools. There is also an interesting temple on Hon Ba built by the fishermen to worship the goddess of the sea. Don’t enjoy yourself for too long, however, or you’ll be stuck on the island for several hours waiting for the tide to go down again!

Hiking the peninsula in Vung Tau activities:

Hiking the peninsula is lots of fun and well worth the effort for the spectacular panoramas. Both Nui Nho and Nui Lon have a network of hiking trails that lead through pleasant vegetation. There are plenty of stops with benches where you can rest and relax while taking in the scenery or observe the birdlife. There are also trails around the smaller headlands between the beaches.
